San Antonio, Texas, November 2024 – The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) has reinforced its commitment to the community through a significant anti-human trafficking operation in Houston, Texas. This coordinated effort led to the rescue of 84 individuals and the suspension of nine licenses associated with alleged human trafficking activities.
Involving over 200 peace officers and employees from TABC, the Houston Police Department, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and additional local, state, and federal agencies, the operation focused on nine Houston-area bars suspected of violating public safety standards.

The locations’ TABC licenses were suspended as outlined in Section 11.614 of the Alcoholic Beverage Code, which authorizes the agency to suspend a business’s liquor license for up to 90 days if the commission determines “that the continued operation of a permitted or licensed business would constitute a continuing threat to public welfare.”
